The southern façade, which was sponsored by Emperor Charles I –whose portrait may be seen on the corbels of the pediment of the large voussoir door–, stands out. When the monks lived there, long lines of beggars stood in front of this door.
We may also visit the Obra Nova (New Building), a building from the 16th century with a Renaissance façade and a Baroque top, in which the chapel of Sant Sebastià (St Sebastian), the library and the hostelry are located. The priory tower, tall and sturdy, was built in the 16th century, when the monastery was fortified in order to protect it from pirate attacks.
The top floor has galleries of diminished arches made up of lines of bricks. There is a carillon with eight bells that was placed to commemorate the Jubilee in the year 2000.
